    Restylane Questions

You will notice immediate results after your injection.

Is Restylane safe?

Yes. Because Restylane is non-animal-based and fully biocompatible, allergy testing is not required.

Can Restylane be used anywhere on the face?

Restylane is currently indicated in the U.S. only for the treatment of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds. Restylane can be injected into the lips, cheeks, glabellar lines and other areas on the face.

How long does Restylane last?

Studies have shown that the average treatment results last six months or even longer.

Typically Restylane treatments are scheduled twice a year. Evidence shows that having a touch-up treatment before the product has fully dissipated will enhance the lasting effect.

How is Restylane different from Botox?

Restylane is a natural, cosmetic filler. Botox is a drug that blocks nerve transmission and relaxes the underlying muscles. A combination of both products may help produce the best results.

How is Restylane different than bovine collagen?

Restylane is proven to deliver a longer-lasting effect than traditional collagen, with virtually no risk of animal-based disease transmission or allergic reaction. Collagen is derived from animals (Cow) and requires an allergy test. Because Restylane is non-animal-based, it can be administered without pre-testing, so no waiting is required.

Will I need anesthesia?

To optimize your comfort during the short procedure, your physician may use anesthetic.

Star Lux Pulsed-Light Hair Removal Questions

What body areas can I get treated?

Any area, except around the eyes.

What are the treatment sessions like?

After your initial preparation, your treatment provider will move a wand-like hand piece over your skin. The handpiece emits a light that disables the hair follicles. Most people perceive the light as a gentle "snapping" sensation. Once this is completed, the treatment provider will wipe away any loose hair from your skin.

What can I expect after treatment?

Most people experience some mild redness and tenderness in the treated area shortly after treatment. This does not interfere with normal activities and usually subsides within a day. In some cases, the redness may last longer, but will still be mild and temporary.

What is the difference between Laser and Pulsed-Light Treatments?

Pulsed-light systems and lasers are very similar and remove hair in basically the same way. However, the Paolmar Pulsed Light Systems use a new technology that removes hair up to ten times faster than lasers.

How long are the treatments?

It depends on the area that is being treated.

  • Legs Approx. 30 min.
  • Back Approx. 30 min.
  • Bikini Line Approx. 15 min.
  • Underarms Approx. 15 min.
  • Chin Approx. 10 min.

    Star Lux Photo Treatment Questions

What body areas can I get treated?

Any area, except directly around the eyes.

What are the Photo treatment sessions like?

After your initial preparation, your treatment provider will move the Palomar pulsed light handpiece over your skin. The handpiece emits a light that breaks up the pigment in the lesions. Most people perceive the light as a gentle "snapping" sensation, which causes little to no discomfort.

What should I expect after treatment?

Pigmented lesions will darken slightly after treatment, and then fade away after about 10-14 days. Vessels (visible veins) generally undergo immediate graying or blanching and the surrounding area may redden. The vessels then fade after about 10-14 days.

Most people experience some mild temporary redness and swelling, similar to a sunburn, in the treated area shortly after treatment. This does not interfere with normal activities and usually subsides within a day. In some cases, the redness may last longer, but will still be mild and temporary.

What is the difference between Photo pulsed light and laser treatments?

Pulsed-light systems and lasers are very similar and treat lesions in basically the same way. However, the RejuveLux process uses a new technology that removes lesions much faster than lasers.

Are people with darker pigmented skin able to have the Photo Treatments done?

The Photo Treatment is not recommended for every skin type. A consultation with your laser technician can determine if you are a candidate for the Photo treatments.
